An attempt was made to isolate a growth hormone cDNA using a PCR procedure. Two different sequences (219 bp and 319bp) that were obtained using a cDNA approach do not seem to correspond with the growth hormone gene sequence though they have some homology with it. Only a few genes have been sequenced up to now in Russian. Sturgeon (Acipenser gueldenstadti) thus the two sequences studied be useful both for population and phylogenetic studies of Russian sturgeon (Acipenser gueldenstadti).Pages
