The aims of this project were to improve understanding of the basic life-cycle, biology, stock structure, ecological interaction and fisheries exploitation of the Indian squid, Loligo duvauceli Orbigny, 1848 of Oman Sea at southeast waters 01 Iran. 1387 samples including 639 males and 727 females, were collected from November 1999 to October 2000 by trawl net. Length-weight relationships, growth parameters (Von Bertalanffy equation), both for males and females exhibited allometric growth. Females grew at a faster rate, while males grew slower but reached a larger ultimate size and age. The sex ratio of the spawning oecurred throughout yean New evidences like size at which 50% are mature, low Gonadosomatic index, Nidamentalsomatic index and non semelparous reproduction are described. 'Hie congregations took place during the premonsoon months and resulted in increase in catch rates of squids by trawlers.Pages
