Abstract
The presence of species of the community phytoplanktonc is described in four jetties of the Cartagena Bay and in four ships of international traffic, whit description of physiochemical parameters; in the jetties they register 116 species of phytoplankton, 23 of these they are registered for the ships, the rain time presents the biggest richness on the average with 72 species. The ship the month of June presented bigger richness, this craft took waters of ballast before few days in the port of Guayanilla, the smallest richness registers it the ship Vera B who loaded its waters of ballast in open waters. It is indexed the presence for the first time of Chrooccocus sp., Nostoc sp., Melosira granulata, Eutonia sp., Phacus sp., Trachelomona sp., Pediastrum simplex, Pediastrum tetras, Scenedesmus bicaudatus, Scenedesmus quadricauda, Staurastrum af. setigerum, Ankistrodesmus spiralis, Sphaerocystis sp., Tetraspora sp. and Dictyosphaerium sp., most of these species registered in the rain time where you can appreciate the marked influence of the continental waters, it is believed that these species had not registered previously due to the lack of studies that they are devoted to these groups (to exception of the diatoms) and not because they are not habitual flora for the bay. It is reported the presence of species like Pseudontizchia sp., Dinophysis caudata, Ceratium furca and Skeletonema costatum for the jetties and of this last species for the ships, which have been registered as causing of illnesses and of impacts to the marine ecosystem, according to the list of references of taxonomy of the Commission Intergovernmental Oceanography (COI) of algae toxic planktonics additionally they should be carried out specific studies to check the toxicity of these stumps to know if they can end up causing damages to the human health to the ecosystem and the resources.
