Within a lot of 164 cumaceans collected from 32 stations by Larnont Geological Observatory with the R/V "Vema" during 1958 - 1961, I identified 17 species belonging to the families Archaeocumatidae, Bodotriidae and Nannastacidae: 5 new species new to science, another 6 species and 4 genera mentioned now for the first time in certain oceanic areas, the other ones being refound (Tab. 1). When I presented the species I took into account the last systematic reviews (Bacescu, 1988,'1992; Watling, 1991). The type material is preserved in the collections of the American Museum of Natural History from New York (AMNH), which lent this material in order to be studied, and in the collections of the "Grigore Antipa" Museum of Natural History from Bucharest (MINGA).en_US
