San Diego Bay was reopened to commercial gill net fishingfor striped mullet, Mugil cephalus, in that portion of thebay south of the San Diego - Coronado bridge in 1977 via anexperimental gear permit issued by the Fish and GameCommission. In 1985, legislation was passed allowing up tofive permits each annual season to fish for striped mulletin south San Diego Bay. Annual landings ranged from 18,700to 46,800 pounds from 1980 through 1986. (17pp.)Issue/Article Nr
