Abstract
This study reviews the progress that is being made in Mediterranean countries concerningthe development of measures for controlling and reducing pollution from the industry sectorand promoting the application of CP and other related mechanisms leading the sector tosustainable patterns of production. The document updates and provides additional elementsto the Study on the State of Cleaner Production in the Mediterranean Action Plan countries3,adding new elements to the information available that remains valid. Therefore, it containsinformation on the main changes in the Mediterranean countries4 with regard to:• the countries’ industrial development, its main environmental impacts and areas of specialconcern• new laws and regulations for controlling and preventing pollution• voluntary agreements with industry to facilitate pollution reduction• key agents and institutions and tools and activities in the field of pollution prevention, withspecial attention to CP• programmes, action plans and projects linked to CP and eco-efficiency.• economic instruments, voluntary instruments (EMS, eco-labelling) and environmentalawards (Document has 258 pages.)

Export search results
