dc.description.abstractThis paper presents an environmental strategy designed and applied on the basis of the concept of sustainability, and based on a theoretical-methodological model. During the intervention process, various indicators of progress, management and situation were assessed as environmental management tools. The present state of the tourist product was assessed and the objectives, policies and actions towards acknowledgement and environmental certification were drawn by training workers and managers to successfully face ecological audits and labeling. Substantial changes have been attained in incorporating the environmental dimension to enterprise management.en
