Evolution de l'activité des flottilles industrielles étrangères ciblant les petits pélagiques dans la zone mauritanienne de 1991 à 1999. Analyse spatio-temporelle des captures des sardinelles.

Abstract

L'utilisation des Analyses Factorielles des Correspondances (AFC) suivie d'une classification hiérarchique pour étudier les captures des petits pélagiques entre 1991 et 1999 dans la zone économique exclusive mauritanienne, a permis de mettre en évidence les déterminants de la répartition des stratégies de pêche au niveau de cette zone pour les flottilles les plus intéressantes. Les facteurs comme l'année, les secteurs, la saison et la flottille sont ceux qui expliquent le mieux les variations des captures observées. Les captures augmentent et se diversifient sous l'effet des changements de stratégie et l'arrivée de nouvelles flottilles dans la zone. Les captures des sardinelles ont été multiplié par 3 suite à l'arrivée des flottilles de l'Union européenne en particulier et le report d'une partie de l'effort traditionnellement exercé sur les chinchards. Celles de l'anchois ont connu une augmentation encore plus remarquable suite à l'entrée de la flottille de Saint Vincent et Grenadine et là aussi du report d'une partie de l'effort exercé auparavant sur d'autres espèces. Le sabre a en revanche presque disparu, après avoir occupé pendant quelques années la première place dans les captures des flottilles de petits pélagiques, sous l'effet conjugué d'un désintérêt et probablement d'un phénomène de remplacement par les chinchards. L'analyse du déplacement du centre de gravité des captures des sardinelles et de l'effort de pêche a permis d'expliquer les déplacements incessants des principales flottilles. En particulier, il a été mis en évidence la grande mobilité de ces flottilles dans le sens côte-large et large-côte, dans un même secteur en plus du traditionnel déplacement latitudinal en suivant la migration des espèces cibles.

The use of the Factor analyses of Correspondence Factor Analysis (CFA) followed of a hierarchical classification to study the catches of small pelagic between 1991 and 1999 in the economic exclusive Mauritanian zone, made it possible to highlight the determinants of fishing strategies distribution within this zone for the most interesting fleets. Factors like the year, the sectors, the season and the fleets are those which explain the best the variations on the observed catches. The captures increase and diversify under the effect of the strategy changes and in the new fleets arrivals in the area. The sardinellas catches have been multiplied by 3 with the arrival of the European Union fleets in particular and the carryforward of part of the effort traditionally exerted on the horse mackerel. Those of anchovy knew an increase even more remarkable with the entry of the Saint Vincent and Grenadine fleet and there again of the carryforward of part of the effort exerted before on other species. The cutlassfish, on the other hand, almost disappeared, after having occupied during a few years the first place in the captures of the small pelagic fleets, under the combined effect of a disinterest and probably of a phenomenon of replacement by the horse mackerel. The analysis of the displacement of the sardinellas catches gravity and the fishing effort made it possible to explain ceaseless displacements of the principal fleets. In particular, it was underlined the great mobility of these flotillas in the coast-broad and broad-coast directions, in a same sector in addition to traditional athwartship displacement following the migration of the target species.
