Stations were established throughout the area in order to obtain a full and representative sampling of the fishes present. Of the 78 species of fish included in this checklist some 48 might be considered to be endemic, living significant portions of their lives in the area. Twenty-two appear to be occasional visitors, and eight are juvenile stragglers into the area. Data concerning the commercial shrimp are presented last.Pages
