Ray's technique was used in the determination of the oyster parasite Dermocystidium marinum. Tissue samples were collected from oysters in Galveston Bay, Matagorda Bay, Copano Bay, Aransas Bay, and the Lower Laguna Madre. Only oysters in Galveston Bay and Aransas Bay were found to be infected with the fungus. No serious moralities were observed among the infected oyster populations.Pages
