Desmodoridae (nematodes) with extremely long spicules from South AmericaAbstract
Se discute que en 5 de los 6 ordenes de Nemátodos marinos de vida libre existen especies con espículas extraordinariamente alargadas. Estas especies viven en fango, arena y entre algas. Se describen 4 especies de Desmodoridae Microlaimus acicularis n. sp,. Molgolaimus renuispiculum Ditlevsen 1921 (Microlaiminae, respectivamente), Desmodora filispiculum n. sp., y D. sinuata n. sp. (Desmodorinae, respectivamente). Las primeras 3 especies fueron colectadas en la costa pacífica del sur de Chile, la última en la costa Atlántica de Colombia.It is argued that in 5 of the 6 orders of free-living marine Nematodes are extremely elongated species with spicules. These species live in mud, sand and among algae. Describes 4 species of Desmodoridae Microlaimus acicularis n. sp. Molgolaimus renuispiculum Ditlevsen 1921 (Microlaiminae, respectively), n. Desmodora filispiculum sp., and D. sinuata n. sp. (Desmodorinae, respectively). The first 3 species were collected on the Pacific coast of southern Chile, the last in the Atlantic coast of Colombia.
