Abstract
Se midieron los parámetros hidroperóxidos totales (HPT) y sustancias reactivas al ácido tiobarbitúrico (SRATB) como marcadores de peroxidación lipídica, la actividad de las enzimas antioxidantes catalasa (CAT) (EC1.11.1.6) y superóxido dismutasa (SOD) (EC1.15.1.1), así como el glutatión reducido (GSH) y los grupos tiólicos protéicos (GTP), en raíces de Allium cepa L expuestas a las aguas contaminadas de la zona estuarina del río Cojímar, como criterio ecotoxicológico. Los HPT y las SRATB estuvieron elevadas en la estación-5. La actividad de la CAT y la SOD se mantuvieron bajas lo que indica la inhibición de la actividad de estas enzimas. Un comportamiento diferente fue el encontrado para el GSH y los GTP, los cuales se mantuvieron elevados en las estaciones 5 y 6, lo que indica un elevado poder oxidante en la zona objeto de estudio. Esta investigación demostró la utilidad del modelo Allium cepa en la medición del estrés oxidativo en estudios ecotoxicológicos.
We measured the parameters total hidroperoxides (HPT) and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (SRATB) as markers of lipid peroxidation, catalase (CAT) (EC1.11.1.6) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) (EC1.15.1.1) activity, as well as, glutathione (GSH) and tiolic protein groups (GTP), in roots from Allium cepa exposed to water polluted of the coastal zone fron Cojimar river, as ecotoxicology criteria. The HPT and SRATB were increased into sampling point 5. The CAT and SOD activities did not show a pronounced increased, indicating the inhibition of these enzymes. A different behaviour we founded in the GSH and GTP parameters, which were risen in the stations 5 and 6, indicating a high oxidant power in the area. This investigation demonstrated the utility of the Allium cepa model in the oxidative stress measurement in ecotoxicolgy studies.
