The effect of the continuous pruning of the leaves, every 60, 90 and 120 days, on the vegetative and reproductive structures and the content of soluble carbohydrates and proteins in the plant were analyzed on permanent plots. The four monthly harvesting, with the use of scissors, cutting 5 cm above the sediment and in areas of 0.25 m2, did not cause damage to the vegetative and reproductive structures, and there were no changes in the chemical components of the plant.
