Bony fishes and squid catch data from a demersal resources assessment cruise were analysed. This cruise took place between August 18th and September 10th, 2016 within the Common Fishing Zone. Relative abundance and frequency of occurrence were analyzed for all species. Additionally, the spatial distribution pattern and population structure of the most abundant and/or frequent species were analyzed. The Argentine hake (Merluccius hubbsi) and the short fin squid (Illex argentinus) were the species with the highest frequency of occurrence. The Argentine hake, the short fin squid, the hawkfish (Nemadactylus bergi) and the hairy conger (Bassanago albescens) showed the highest total catches in weight. The highest densities of hake were recorded nearby 200 m depth. Juveniles were concentrated at north of the 36º S, whereas adults were concentrated at south of 37º. Immature individuals predominated in both sexes. The highest densities of hawkfish were recorded between 50 and 100 m. Adults dominated the hawkfish catches for both female and male. The highest densities of short fin squid were concentrated between 35º and 35º30’ S and between 50 and 100 m. Juvenile females and adult males predominated in the area.
