Abstract

The Joint Group of Experts on the Scientific Aspects of Marine Environmental Protection (GESAMP) held its 44th session hosted by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in Geneva, Switzerland, from 4 to 7 November 2017. GESAMP was established in 1969 by a number of United Nations Organizations as a Joint Group to encourage the independent, interdisciplinary consideration of marine pollution and environmental protection problems with a view to avoiding duplication of efforts within the United Nations system
