Abstract

Fisheries management is an activity that is implemented to achieve some objectives for fisheries as well as society. These objectives are not always clearly stated, but will generally emphasise the sustainability of the fish stocks, in some cases supplemented with insurance of food security and an economic basis for coastal communities.
