The analysis of seasonal and yearly data on the Furcellaria fastigiata cast ashore by storm is presented. It was established that the most important area for storing of the seaweed is the shore from Liepaja (Latvia) to Nida, with the length of 50 km. The main condition of the appearance of the seaweed on the shore of the Latvian coast is the change of winds from the western to the south-eastern and southern directions. This phenomenon is characteristic for the autumn-winter months. The yield of the ready product from the air-dry F. fastigiata constitutes 30 %.
