To find possibilities for controlling fish movements with the aim of simplification of their catching in complicated conditions, the investigation of the impact of the extract of hyssop Hyssopus officinalis L. on fish behaviour and metabolism was carried out. A total of 117 experiments were made. Of them 87 were performed on young fish, the rest on adults. It was established that the water solution of the complex of chemical compounds of H. officinalis resulted in rapid departure of fish from the zone of its influence. The solution of the H. officinalis complicates respiration in fish, this was concluded from the decrease of the intensity of their oxygen consumption. The decrease in the oxygen consumption of fish was of short duration. The original level was restored in an hour after the transference of fish into clean water.
