dc.description.abstract | The symptoms of ulcerous disease in vimba bream (Vimba vimba) are described. 768 fish was subjected to ichthyological analysis and the external parasitological examination, 20 - to the full parasitological investigation and two to bacteriological study. It was not excluded that the cause of the ulcerous disease could be the pollution of rivers and the estuarine areas of the Gulf of Riga with sewage waters. It was established that in vimba bream the ulcer was the strongest expressed during the spawning period. Mainly spent individuals were affected. In lesser extent the disease was found in summer and autumn. The pathogenic organism was not found. | |
