During the rainy season (march 2011), the identified species of benthic microfauna in the bahía area of Manta are: Bulimina pulchella, Buliminella elegantissima, Cibicides bertheloti, F. boueana, Nonion pizarrense, Quinqueloculina lamarckiana, Rotalia beccarii, Lagena striata and the only species of benthic microflora was Coscinodiscus perforatus and correspond to the panamanian zoogeographic province proposed by Boltovskoy (1965) and confirmed by Boltovskoy and Gualancañay (1975) and Gualancañay (1986).
