We review the thermal structure of two ecuadorians coastal stations located Salinas and Manta and compares with the ocean buoy from NOAA, located at 0° and 140°W (Region Niño 3.4). Each of the three stations has a characteristic value of isotherm that marks the start and end of the warm and cold, and events. It is noted that ENSO events which ONI is equal to or greater than 1.8 are considered as stronger or extraordinary, have a very similar thermal configuration in the three stations analyzed here.
