The Convention of Biological Diversity has identified the need for Parties to integrate biodiversity with other sectors of the economy and civil society. Given that EIA is the only instrument available to ensure that consideration is accorded to environmental aspects in economic development plans, it is important that EIA should fully incorporate biodiversity considerations, to ensure that natural resources are taken into account in the development process.Publisher or University
