In East Africa (Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania) agriculture sector employs over 80% of the work force and export earnings from the sector constitute a major part of the national budgets. Subsistence farming is the major source of food. However food shortages as well as negative impacts on several sectors of the economies have been attributed to the seasonal weather variations among other factors. Therefore, the objective of this study was to determine the Long-Range prediction potential of seasonal rainfall as derived from SST modes of the neighboring oceans.en
