As a result of taxonomic analysis and the abundance of benthic polychaetes abtained from the subtidal area in five profiles with 15 stations at depths between 3 and 23 m. in Manta Bay, eight species were identified in march, the most abundant one being Cossura brunnea of the Cossuridae family. Eight species were identified in august, represented by the most abundant species, Paraonis gracilis from the Paraonidae family. For the intertidal zone, five profiles in five different areas were analyzed, using techniques recommended by Roger J. Lincoln & Gordon Sheals (1979). Two species were identified in march and four in august, with the most frquent and abundant species being Anaitides madeirensis of the Phyllodocidae family in both seasons of the year. Sediments were obtained with a Van Veen metallic dredge. The benthic species identified are related some environmental factors of Manta Bay, some of these factors are: Water temperature between 27.5°C and 23.6°C, salinity between 33.9 and 34.3 UPS, pH between 8.28 and 8.15 for the months of march and august, respectively. The greatest richness and diversity of species was found in the subtidal zone between 3 meters and 20 meters of depth, with 8 species benthic polychaetes. This was not the case in the intertide zone with environmental conditions that are similar both seasons, only a total of four species of polychaetes were identified.en
