Abstract
Se colectaron 13 muestras de sedimento obtenidas a bordo del R/V "Eastward" del Laboratorio Marino de la Universidad de Duke, durante octubre de 1976 en el Golfo de Guayaquil. Se identificaron 75 especies de moluscos bentónicos (bivalvos), siendo reportados por primera vez para el área 25 especies que son: Nucula colombiana (Dall), Nuculana acrita (Dall), N. impar (Pilbry & Lowe), N. ornata (Orbigny), N. marella (Hertlein & Strong), Anadara adamsi (Olsson), A. mazatlanica (Hertlein & Strong), Noetia delgada (Lowe), Crenella caudiva (Olsson), Cyclopecten acutus (Gray), Crassinella ecuadoriana (Olsson), C. mexicana (Pilsbry & Lowe), Divaricella perparvula (Dall), Lucina leucocymoides (Lowe), Pythinella sublaevis (Carpenter), Microcardium ecuadoriense (Olsson), Papyridea crockeri (Strong & Hertlein), Chione kellettii (Hinds), Tellina brevirostris (Deshayes), Corbula amethystina (Olsson), C. bicarinata (Sowerby), C. ira (Dall), Cardiomya ecuadoriana (Olsson), Plectodon scaber (Carpenter), Verticordia ornata (Orbigny). Se da a conocer el número de valvas, la profundidad y las estaciones en que fueron encontradas. También sus dimensiones y una breve apreciación personal de cada una de las especies. En la sinonimia se ha preferido poner en la mayoría de los casos, sólo el nombre original y las referencias donde la especie fue publicada por primera vez. Un mapa de localización del área y las estaciones se presenta y al final un índice en orden alfabético que permitirá encontrar la especie deseada.
Thirteen sediment samples were collected on board the R/V "Eastward" (Duke University Marine Laboratory) in the Gulf of Guayaquil during october 1976. Seventy-five species of benthonic molluscs (bivalvia) ere identified, twenty five of which are reported in this area for the first time: Nucula colombiana (Dall), Nuculana acrita (Dall), N. impar (Pilsbry & Lowe), N. ornata (Orbigny), N. marella (Hertlein & Strong), Noetia delgada (Lowe), Crenella caudiva (Olsson), Cyclopecten acutus (Gray), Crassinella ecuadoriana (Olsson), C. mexicana (Pilsbry & Lowe), Divaricella perparvula (Dall), Lucina leucocymoides (Lowe), Pythinella sublaevis (Carpenter), Microcardium ecuadoriense (Olsson), Papyridea crockeri (Strong & Hertlein), Chione kellettii (Hinds), Tellina brevirostris (Deshayes), Corbula amethystina (Olsson), C. bicarinata (Sowerby), C. ira (Dall), Cardiomya ecuadoriana (Olsson), Plectodon scaber (Carpenter), and Verticordia ornata (Orbigny).
