Sampling for the project started on April 8, 1997 as a pilot sampling to find out the best areas for sampling. From August 1997, The actual sampling commenced simultaneously with analysis of some of the samples. The samples collected so far are shown in table 1. The samples analysed so far are for oxygen, pH, temperature and salinity. Samples for pesticide analysis were extracted and cleaned but could not be analysed because we had problems with the nitrogen gas generator. The samples for nutrients could also not be analysed because the spectrophotometer had broken down. The spectrophotometer has been repaired and analysis for nutrients has just started. Recently, we also managed to repair the nitrogen gas generator and we are now running standards before we can run the samples.Page Range
