Impact of phosphogypsum and urban rejections on the bio-accumulation of metal traces by the clam Ruditapes decussatus taken in the area of Sfax.Abstract
La bioaccumulation en metaux traces dans les tissus de la palourde Ruditapes decussatus a ete evaluee sur des individus recoltes en 1993-1994. Les sites du littoral tunisien sont choisis fonction de leur interet conchylicole et industriel, sont: Le port de peche de Sfax, Gargour et la Skhira. Les resultats obtenus montrent que la bioaccumulation en As, Cu, Zn, Cd et Fe est relativement importante dans les stations de Gargour et de la Skhira. Le test de Fisher revele une difference significative pour la plupart des metaux etudies. Ceci est sans doute du a la conjonction de plusieurs facteurs et en particulier: Le stockage du phosphogypse a proximite immediate de la cote, l'ecoulement des eaux de la nappe phreatique contaminee vers la mer et l'effet des courants marins generaux longeant la cote du nord au sud.This bioaccumulation of trace metal in clams Ruditapes decussatus tissue was evalued on individual collected between 1993-1994. The sites of Tunisian littoral chosen for their industrial and conchylicol interest were: Fishing port of Sfax, Gargour and Skhira. The results shown that the bioaccumulation for As, Cu, Zn, Cd and Fe are higher in Gargour and Skhira than in the fishing port of Sfax. The Fisher test reveals a significant difference for the major part of the studied metals. Actually, this results is due to many factors and specially the stock of phosphogypsum near by the coast; the contaminated water which comes from the phreatic layer and is dispersed into the sea, and also the effect of general sea movement from the north to the south are also involved.
