Scales were used to determine age and growth of Pagrus caeruleostictus (Valenciennes, 1830) from Tunisian coasts. An interpretation of the annual rings and their period of formation, is proposed. Parameters for the equations of the growth in length and weight as a function of time (von Bertalanffy model) are estimated. The growths in length and weight are the same for males and females. Length-weight relationships show no significant differences whatever the period of the year and the sex. The performances of growth are less important in the Mediterranean than in the Atlantic.en_US
